Descendants of Sarah Redden

Sarah Redden (William Redden Sr.) Sara Redden was born in 1817 in Virginia. She married Andrew Lewis Richmond in 1839. She died after Aug of 1882 in Raleigh County West Virginia. Andrew Richmond was born in October of 1813 in Giles County Virginia. Andrew died on the 3rd of August 1882 in Freezeland Mountain, Raleigh County ,West Virginia.

Their Children were:

5. John Marshall Richmond	6. Mary Emeline Richmond

It is believed that Andrew Richmond died as the result of an accident with a runaway sled on Freezeland Mountain. The present owner of the property says the accident happened on the hill just behind the old Richmond two story log home, which is still standing and is estimated to be over 100 years old. The present owner of the property uses the old home for storage as the home is not inhabitable.

There is a Richmond family cemetery on the property about 300 yards from the road at the edge of the woods on a knoll and within sight of the old Richmond log home. There are approximately twenty graves in the cemetery, but only one of the inscriptions on the headstones is legible, and that is for Francine Richmond the daughter of Andrew and Sarah. Most of the grave markers in the cemetery are just large field stones.

The Richmond Family Cemetery

1. William Henry Richmond (Sarah Redden & Andrew L. Richmond) William Henry Richmond was born on the 18 of June 1840 in Fayette county Virginia. He died on the 9th of September 1903 in hinton, Summer County, West virginia. He married Angeline Redden, the daughter of Michael Redden and Elizabeth Adkins, on the 12th of August 1865 in Greenbrier County, Virginia. Angeline Redden was born on the 2nd of January 1841 in Fayett County Virginia. She died after 1920 in Raleigh County, West Virginia.

2. Francina Richmond (Sarah Redden & Andrew L. Richmond) Francina was born on the 26th day of Febuary 1842 in Greenbrier, Virginia. She died on April 1st 1909 in Raleigh County, West Virginia. Francina married Andrew J. Richmond (Richman) on the 24th of December 1857 in Raleigh Conty, Virginia. Andrew J. Richmond was born in 1836 in Coles County, Illinoise. He was the son of John Richman and Sarah ? unknown maiden name. Francina and Andrew devorced arond 1860 -1880.

3. Lewis Richmond (Sarah Redden & Andrew L. Richmond) Lewis was born in 1845 in Raleigh County, West Virginia. NOTE: The 1850 Raleigh County Cences lists Lewis Richmond as 5 years old with his Father, Andrew L. Richnond and Mother, Sarah (Redden) Richmond. other siblings listed were - William as 10 years old, Francina as 8 years old and John as 2 years old. No marage record or death record has been found or confirmed for Lewis as of this publication.

4. Andrew Lewis Richmond Jr. (Sarah Redden & Andrew L. Richmond) Andrew Jr. was born in 1847. He married Sarah F. Fox (Hogan) on the 20th of December 1877 in Summers County, West Virginia. Sarah F. Fox was born in 1857 and died in 1927. Her parents were listed as James W. and Sarah Francis Hogan according to West Virginia marage records.

5. John Marshall Richmond (Sarah Redden & Andrew L. Richmond) John was born on the 3rd of Febuary 1849 in Freezland Mountain, Raleigh County, Virginia. He married Clara Frances Neely on the 13th of January 1876 in Summers County, West Virginia. Clara was born on the 6th of March 1856 in Jumping Branch, Mercer County, Virginia, She was the daughter of Levi MacDonald Neely Sr. and Rebecca Catherine Lilly. Clara Neely died on the 18th of July in 1928 in Beach Run, Summers County, West Virginia. John M. Richmond died on the 17trh of December 1917 in Summers County, West Virginia and is burried in the Richmond Harvey Cemetery. Summers County, West Virginia.

6. Mary Emeline Richmond (Sarah Redden & Andrew L. Richmond) Mary Emeline Richmond was born on the 4th of May 1854 in Raleigh County, Virginia
